On the first day, we saw the Pyramids and Sphynx, all of which turned out to be really quite big. We also had a chance to try and get used to Cairo driving (just as passengers!), which involves thousands of ancient cars bumper to bumper swerving in and out of gaps that don't exist, beeping at anyone that dares get in the way. Crossing a street with all this going on is even more fun, and we soon learned the best tactic was to shield yourself with someone local, as they seem oblivious to it all. Half a day was spent in the Egyptian museum and we saw the dried liver and heart of some ancient queen and lots of mummies, including a full sized crocodile.
