The annual summer solstice trip to Scotland this year was delayed by the birth of Matthew, and took place in September instead, on the nearest island we could find: Arran. Surprisingly good weather, good food, lovely scenery and some steep walks meant it was worth the wait. Arran has absolutely everything you could want except an airport and paved roads (ok, they were paved once), including Laserquest in a barn on a farm somewhere (not that we tried it)!
