26th June 2004 - Oban To Inverary

This bike ride started off as a ride from Oban to Dalmally. And, indeed, it was a ride to Dalmally. However, when we arrived in Dalmally, the restaurant, which had a campsite in the back garden, was closed down (as in didn't exist any more). Unfortunately, this meant so was the campsite. So, back on our bikes for a 15 mile ride to Inverary. On arriving at Inverary YHA, soaked through from a freak rain storm (which wouldn't have been a problem had the previous campsite existed and we hadn't had to ride another 15 miles...), a friendly warden said "I hope you're not looking for a bed...". Three or four B&Bs later, we found somewhere to stay.
