Mürren has become slightly more developed since I was last there - I'm sure it used to be just a couple of hotels and not much else. We stayed in a pretty average and extremely expensive hotel (which seems to be the norm in Switzerland), though it was at least friendly, and served delicious rare horse steak. Mürren has a cable car to the Schilthorn (apparently of James Bond fame), a 2970 metre mountain with a revolving restaurant on top. I've always wanted to go there, and for some reason as a child, only ever got as far as Mürren, so this was a lifelong dream fulfilled. The altitude was noticeable enough - running up the stairs in the restaurant nearly made me pass out!

After Mürren, we went to Luzern, but the weather was grey and drizzly, and so we didn't catch its full beauty. We did, however, spend an interesting afternoon in the transport museum. Well, interesting to me anyway!

On the final day, we visited Schaffhausen, near the German border, and saw the largest plain waterfalls in Europe at Neuhausen am Rheinfall.
