On Thursday, we took the train to Derry*. The train ride has to be one of the most scenic in the UK, at times right on the edge of beautiful beaches. We walked around the city walls, which contained lots of very interesting information about their history, and many cannons. Several months after we got back, we started watching Derry Girls, and suddenly things like the massive mural of the cast made sense, and the opening scenes of the city walls felt very familiar.

On Friday, we travelled home, via a very cold and wet White Park Bay. The journey was delayed many hours by Debbie having to do doctory stuff when we stumbled across some smashed up cars blocking the road, and a very shocked woman in a ditch. Everyone was fine, I believe.

Then it was another pleasant overnight crossing back to Liverpool, arriving as the sun was coming up.

* Let me be clear I'm not picking sides: I'm calling it Derry, as I had to pick either Derry or Londonderry, and the former involves less typing, and I really can't be bothered to have an opinion on which is correct, or which is likely to cause the least offence.
