Mostly photos from a camping trip to Brothers Water in the Lake District.

First a walk up Helvellyn in every weather possible, including hail, snow, and a howling gale. My map blew over the edge, and I briefly considered retrieving it before realising my life was worth more than the £15 to replace it. I was utterly miserable by the end: wet gloves and cold fingers, and feeling pathetic watching some race participants in shorts!

The final day was beautiful: sunny, warm, calm, and one of the best days I’ve ever had on the hills. Such a shame everyone else had gone home! I stormed around a circuit of High Street, feeling fit as a fiddle. Three hours later I went down with COVID.
