Another freezing cold day, with an evil wind. An ideal day to go to Attermire Scar then, which is surely one of the most exposed spots on the planet. It wasn't too bad when the sun was out, but by the end of the day it had clouded over to try and finish us off. This day was spent learning how to lead climb and stick bits of kit in the rock to stop us falling. Some of the climbs were pretty scary. This was not helped by the fact that bare fingers on freezing cold rock go numb very very quickly, which isn't what you want when you're hanging on by fingernails, toes and trying to extract a piece of life saving kit from the other side of the harness. I vowed never to do this kind of thing again. By the time I'd reached the top of the climbs, I'd already forgotten and was dying to have another go... when will I learn?
