Pete & Nic on Sarn Helen Roman Road Pete on Sarn Helen Roman Road Nic on Sarn Helen Roman Road Nic on Sarn Helen Roman Road Nic on Sarn Helen Roman Road Range Rover Range Rover Engine Range Rover Give Way

A lovely day cycling. Got to experience Welsh friendliness first-hand. First encounter with a native was me cycling down a road past a farmer, who gave me a very evil look. Pete and Nic passed him a little later and heard him say something along the lines of "I'll find out where you're staying and let your tyres down!" Good day to you too sir.

Second encounter was a beefy looking solitary cow in the middle of a large field, through which the bridleway we were following ran. Conscious that this was probably a big daddy cow, I stormed through the field as fast as I could. Anyway, apparently it went for me, couldn't catch me, and turned its attention to Pete instead. On finding that it was too fat and unfit to catch Pete either, it went for Nic instead, who had sensibly taken a very long detour... safely on the other side of the field, I looked round to see the bull hiding under the trees I'd just been through, sounding very angry. Lovely. Welcome to Wales. No, you are welcome, really.

Third encounter was a completely trashed Range Rover. Impressive, especially seeing whoever had completely wrecked it had thoughtfully removed the battery and placed it the right way up under the car to stop it leaking all over the countryside. Ahhh, the Welsh aren't that bad after all.

Fourth encounter was with a gummy grandma of a border collie, which to me looked really fierce. So I screamed at it to get out of the way. Next thing there was a loud clang as the dog took refuge under a tractor and judged it very badly. I hear dog heads are quite hard, so I hope it wasn't too concussed.
