17th May - Back To Arduaine

The previous night's forecast was for force six winds later in the day, so we woke very early (7 o'clock to be precise) to try and get back to the mainland before it all got a bit to hairy and impossible for novices like ourselves. As it happened, the winds never materialised and we had a fairly pleasant crossing back to Arduaine. Today I crashed my boat trying to get through a load of tidal water been squeezed between a couple of islands, but no major damage was done. The only real worry was near the end of the trip when a luxury liner put itself on a collision course with us. Back on dry land, we unpacked masses of smelly kit into the car, and went off for a pint in the nearest cafe, probably smelling like we'd been at sea for three days without a wash...
