I Can See Through To Next Door! These And Pipes Don't Mix Quality Literature That Dropped Out Of Ceiling

Photos of the continuing destruction in my kitchen. The ceiling came down in ten minutes flat with Barry's help - him with a spade, me with a jemmy. Couldn't see across the room for dust!

The lovely wallpaper has been exposed to be removed. On removing one piece of plasterboard, I found I could see next door's lights, so that had to be bricked up. The people who'd taken the chimney stacks out had obviously done both houses at once and not bothered filling in between the RSJs. The fact that there is an RSJ in the kitchen is a relief, as I wasn't sure what might be lurking above that ceiling. It wouldn't have been much fun having to rebuild the chimney stack to stop the house collapsing!

The list of strange items found (generally dropping out of ceilings) while renovating the house continues to grow - have now found plastic baby legs, porno mags, coffin shaped boxes lined with tinfoil and bits of lego.

Finally, while removing the plaster from the walls with a great big hammer drill with chisel attachment, I got a bit carried away and went through a water pipe. My heart sank as I saw the (luckily small) jet of water arcing gracefully across the room, cleaning me and the floor in the process. Lucky it wasn't an electric cable or gas pipe I suppose...
