Last night's sore throat appears to have been due to eating crisps yesterday afternoon without chewing them, so that's a relief. Set off in cold dreary weather and went through probably every dive in the country on the way to Leeds. Legs still fine. We're now the fittest people on the planet - nothing short of a catastrophe can stop us reaching John O'Groats now! Only 560 miles to go! Shame my bike sounds like it'll only do another 10. Going to Woodrup's tomorrow to get it fixed and invest in the biggest squashiest saddle money can buy. Thanks to Caroline for feeding us this evening. Rest day tomorrow.
Nick

Bike problems - I get creaking when pedalling - might be bottom bracket or knees - something will have to give. Amusing tanlines still remain from tight lycra shorts. If the weather carries on like this, carrying waterproofs will have been a wasted effort. Might dump them along with the tent.
